though i would rather see a functional fireplace, the idea of stacking a non-functional one with pretty or useful things is also appealing.
edit: upon actually reading the article, the fireplace IS functional! he just keeps books in there when it’s not in use.

i love reading them, and they are inspiring, but it’s not often that food blogs actually make me salivate. this actually made me drool on myself.

As much as I like to preach about getting rid of things and a certain non attachment to stuff, I have to admit that setting up my bungalow, unpacking my wares, stacking them on shelves, in messy piles, in orderly rows, in boxes to deal with later, it all gives me a certain comfort. To see my stuff, the things I’ve chosen, beautiful things, mundane things, practical things arranged around me, it feels good.
